Annual Charity Golf Tournament

Every year in the month of April or May, we host a charity golf tournament to bring our community together to support our mission statement.

“At Compassion for Community, we want to provide just that: compassion toward those in our community, specifically to those who are struggling to make ends meet and feel valued.  We seek to not only serve an individual once, but rather to appropriately structure our outreaches to consistently serve (weekly, biweekly, monthly, or annually). In alignment with one of our core values of consistency, we offer reliable solutions to needs that never lose their lifespan.  We will relieve financial stress with services that provide school supplies/shoes, like our annual Back-to-School event. We will provide food to our community and provide emotional support with services, like the weekly INSPIRE School Program, that mentor students in partnership with the school district. As needs present themselves in our community, we want to be ready to problem solve with reliable solutions.”

All proceeds from our annual golf tournament will directly benefit all of our outreach programs. Every year our golf tournament grows with more prizes, giveaways, sports memorabilia, and a “Bag filled with goodies”.  So come on out and support.  We hope to see you there

Our trained volunteers show undivided attention and care to each child they meet. Not only will these students leave confidently ready to start school with their new shoes and backpack, but more importantly, knowing their worth.

I am so pleased for the opportunity to express my gratitude for Compassion for Community. Their impact on our community has been so impactful specifically with their efforts in providing shoes to children during their annual “Back to School” event.  As a community partner I have seen firsthand the effort and care they put into impacting the lives of families in our community.

We, the Harris Sheriff’s Office Community Engagement Unit had the opportunity to collaborate with Compassion for Community during the Back to School Outreach in 2022.   My team from the Sheriff’s Office were on sight to further our bandwidth within our local community to engage in dialogue, increasing our support and distributing toys to the community.

My entire staff was impressed by the organization, volunteer base and by the supplies of shoes and backpacks provided by Compassion for Community.  It is this type of involvement that strengthens and brings hope to our society.  This organization does not just “talk the talk”, but they “walk the walk”.

The Compassion for Community group delineates the true meaning of the word “Synergy”. This organization comprehends that “Synergy” is a term that means that one can do more with less. They exhibited, that “Synergy” can be achieved through the act of teamwork. They validated that more actions can be completed when a team of people are working together than when one person is working by his or herself.

Our Harris County Sherriff’s Office – Community Engagement Unity looks forward to collaborating on a yearly basis with Compassion for Community.
